Known for tasty local eats, pubs where patios and extensive craft brew lists are standard fare, sensational shopping, a rockin’ music scene, swanky clubs and vibrant entertainment venues, the Big D is a big deal.ĭallas offers a wide array of neighborhoods that range from funky and fun to luxe beyond belief. Absolutely no reason for them to look like that 1st meal of the day and no way I'll eat here again if that's what the bathrooms look like.Dallas is a city our Greystar residents love to call home. The women's room had one toilet unusable due to a glop of TP filling it.possibly from the night before. We were there early on a Sunday and I'm pretty sure my husband and I were among the first customers using the facilities.I didn't see the men's room but hubby said it was gross. The biggest issue of the morning: The bathrooms were FILTHY. Well, this place doesn't hold back with the alcohol in their drinks.just wish they used better quality. Bitter with bitter at $8 just makes me grumpy. I get using crappy "champagne" but you really need to up your game with a better, and sweeter orange juice. I ordered a mimosa, which was large but they, like most every other restaurant, use really inferior ingredients so it didn't taste very good at all. He ordered a standard bloody mary because those ginormous things were insanely huge (and looked to be mostly ice). Even putting his runny fried egg on it didn't help them. The hash browns are no such thing - they're more like crumbled up potato chips. I had to ask for butter for my muffin, as did my husband for his toast. Even two more would've made me rave a bit more about. The grits were amazing - like the best I've had, but they really skimp on the shrimp and only have two small ones. I got my food almost immediately, which was a bit off-putting but ok. Even though there were about 20 of us, most of us got our orders very quickly. My husband ordered a standard breakfast with eggs, hash browns. I ordered some a la carte food: An English muffin and the shrimp and grits. The service was fine even with our one overworked waitress. I'm going to go back in the future, and I will update my review when I do.Ĭame in for Sunday brunch with a large group. It's also a great option for some vegan dishes as well. I would say this.based on it's location, Anvil Pub is a great choice for drinks and a bite if you're headed that way to go to a concert or something. I honestly could have done it myself.but it wasn't bad or anything. They were basically sauteed zucchini and squash chunks with some avocado and meatless crumbles on corn tortillas. I ordered the vegan tacos and a mimosa (it was still close to brunch time). The main reason that I came here was because I read that they have a lot of vegan options. NBA and racing happened to be on a couple of them at the time. A couple of monitors dot the walls above the bar and on the walls. They have a huge bar with plenty of seating. Inside, it's pretty dark unless you get a place by the windows. The weather was nice, and they do have some limited outdoor seating, but unfortunately it was all taken. Their drink list is pretty extensive (hopefully so, it's a pub) so you should be able to find your beverage of choice. Anvil Pub is close to a lot of great music spots (Dada, Trees, etc.) so it's definitely a great option for a few drinks before and after a show. I'm in or around DE a lot, and while there are already tons of great places to eat.there's always room for another spot, especially one with vegan options.
